What the 2019 Minnesota Student Survey Data Reveals about ACEs, Protective Factors & Resilience

At the Growing Resilient Communities: The 3rd Annual Gathering of Collaboratives Addressing ACEs, Melissa Adolfson and Jacquie Freund presented data from the spring 2019 Minnesota Student Survey is out and we are excited for a “first look” at what it has to say about ACEs, Protective Factors, and Resilience. We’ll look at what the survey shows about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) facing Minnesota Youth, how the presence of protective factors impacts outcomes often associated with ACEs, and Melissa will share a template she’s developing for a Resilience score.

Using the 2016 Minnesota Student Survey Data to Inform Community Action

In this webinar, Melissa Adolfson presents the information on ACEs and Protective Factors from the 2016 Minnesota Student Survey and discusses how the data can help communities determine where to take action to reduce the impact of ACEs. As communities across Minnesota engage in the Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities work, this is a great source of information to support the work!

Phase 3: Community Wisdom – 100 Cups of Coffee Interview Tool (One-on-One Interviews)

Collaborative Coordinators should schedule an initial Technical Assistance Consult with Cassandra (cberg@familywiseservices.org) before administering the 100 Cups of Coffee Interview Tool. Cassandra will give guidance on areas, such as planning the project, conducting interviews, & data collection.

Findings from the 100 Cups of Coffee Interview Pilot Project - Webinar June 2020

The purpose of the one-on-one community conversations is to gather input from the community in a manner that allows for more intimate, candid, and detailed discussions. The process allows for relationship building and raises up the voices of community members in a way that allows for expanded leadership. Those community voices are used to drive action planning. Findings from 100 Cups of Coffee, along with findings from Community Resilience Conversations, Minnesota Student Survey data, and other data on ACEs and resilience, provide baseline data against which communities can measure success.
