VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Walk to End Child Abuse to be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Midway Stadium, 1771 Energy Park Drive, Saint Paul, MN 55108. Proceeds from the event benefit Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota. Call 651-523-0099 ext. 121 to register to volunteer. The following help is needed:
Pre-Event:
PCAMN Day at Saint Paul Saints Game (August 10, 2010): Help pass out walk/PCAMN materials at Saints Game.
Walk Week Office Support: Prep materials, make copies, and complete registrations at the PCAMN Office during Walk Week, September 13 - 17.
DAY OF EVENT
Parking Attendants: From 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., direct traffic to parking lot and direct attendees to event. (2 – 4 volunteers needed)
Event Greeters: From 8:00 a.m. to Noon, welcome people to the event and help direct them to registration and activities. (2 – 4 volunteers needed)
Set Up/Tear Down (2 shifts): From 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Set up/tear down event tables, chairs, tents, staging, signs, barriers, and other tasks. Includes some trash pick up. (10+ volunteers needed)
Registration: Register Walk-day participants and distribute materials including t-shirts. Collect donation records for team teams/individuals turning in off-line donations. (5 – 6 volunteers needed)
Volunteer Tent: Check in volunteer, distribute materials including t-shirts, and direct them to their assigned task. (2 - 3 volunteers needed)
Goody Bag Station: Set-up Goody bag station and distribute to attendees from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (5 – 6 volunteer needed)
Kid’s Dash: Set-up, organize kids, supervise heats, time races from 9:00 a.m. – Noon (5 – 6 Volunteers needed)
Sports Clinic: Set-up, organize kids, help with clinic from 8:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. (5 – 6 volunteers needed)
Face Painting: Set-up, paint kids faces with little images, clean-up from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (10 – 12 volunteers needed)
Mascot Costumes: Become a mascot, walk around event, get pictures with kids, run Mascot race from 9:00 a.m. – Noon (4 – 6 volunteers needed)
Floaters: Help where needed and help cheer on walkers during 1.5 mile pledge walk from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
