The Wakanheza Project |
|
|
|
What is the Wakanheza Project?
-
Have you ever been in a public place like a grocery store, a library, or a mall and seen a parent struggling with their children, trying to keep them in line and well behaved?
-
Have you watched that situation escalate? Did you wonder then, and are you still wondering, what you could have done?
-
Have you ever BEEN that parent?
-
Do you find yourself uncomfortable when you encounter young people on the street? Do you find yourself wondering why they dress and act the way they do? Can you remember what it was like when you were that young person?
-
Do you work in an organization like a store, school, library, clinic, or museum where you see these situations happen, leaving you and your co-workers wondering what to do to best respond?
The Wakanheza Project is a community-wide effort that provides tools and strategies to help us effectively respond in these every-day situations and prevent them from happening in the first place, by creating welcoming environments for our children, young people (teens), and families.
For more information and training opportunities, please contact Becky Dale here at PCAMN by calling (651) 523-0099 ext. 116 or emailing bdale@pcamn.org.

Tax Deductible Donations |

Stocks/Securities
Making a gift of stock to Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota is an excellent choice. It does not matter what tax bracket you're in when you make a gift of appreciated stock. Tax benefits for a donor who has owned appreciated stocks for more than one year are two-fold: capital gains tax is avoided upon transfer to PCA Minnesota and the donor can receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Depending on your tax bracket and the size of the gift, there may be an opportunity to carry the charitable income tax deduction over several years. To establish a plan contact call us at (651) 523-0099.
Bequests/Planned Giving
Making a planned gift allows you to make a contribution over a period of years or as part of an estate plan. Working with your financial advisor or lawyer can give you best options for your charitable gift. For more information on bequests and planned giving please contact PCAMN at (651) 523-0099 for more information.
In-kind Gifts and Wish List
