Thanks to those who attended the
2016 Midwest ACE Summit on November 10 & 11
The 2016 Midwest ACE Summit brought people across the region together in shared learning that went beyond the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study to focus on deeper issues of historical trauma and successful strategies for helping individuals and communities heal, build resiliency, and prevent future ACEs.
Keynote speakers for the 2016 Midwest ACE Summit included Dr. Roy Wade Jr. and Sam Simmons, leading experts on adversity and health in urban and African American communities. Dr. Henry Emmons, author of The Chemistry of Calm as well as The Chemistry of Joy, led a session on natural healing and resilience-building strategies. Laura Porter facilitated the final plenary session of the Summit.
